Paul was born in Beccles a small market town in Suffolk England, the son of a Belgian carpenter and English mother.

He studied at Lowestoft College of art and design as a fabric designer and then moved on to graphics and typography.

Even at this early stage he was keenly interested in photography. Paul worked in London for many years in advertising and graphic design, where his passion for photography developed through working with and art directing other photographers.

Paul always had a fascination for photography, 'Being able to capture an image, commercial or artistic is creatively most satisfying', he says.

Paul considers himself to be a spontaneous photographer very much grasping the moment. He says photography is totally intriguing and does not think he will ever retire or ever be without a camera at hand.
